Help fight anti gay bigots, please.

Mon Apr 13, 2009, 9:34 AM
As some of you may be aware, well known "conservative," columnist, and hard-core bigot Maggie Gallagher runs an organization known as "NOM." Contrary to the name, "NOM" is not for kittehs eating cheezburgers but in fact stands for "National Organization for Marriage." Their campaign uses many of the traditional stupid arguments to "fight" gay marriage. With the victories for gay marriage in Iowa and Vermont in recent weeks the NOM people decided they needed to "step it up" a notch and launch a NEW branded campaign to "save" marriage.

However, in a STUNNING show of ignorance the NOM folks decided to name their campaign "Two Million For Marriage" and IN THEIR OWN BRANDING call it "2M4M." Yes, that's right, they named their anti-gay initiative with the acronym for "2 men for male," a personal ad code for a gay couple seeking a third for threesomes. This's invited a bunch of scorn in the media, alongside what's being directed at other conservatives for calling their "anti taxes" groups "teabaggers," again missing out on the sexual context.

More to the point, and this is how YOU can help, they COMPLETELY failed to snatch up ANY of the internet real-estate related to the name!!!! So my friend Chris bought http://www.2M4M.org and set it up as an ANTI-NOM site with education and facts to counter NOM's bigotry & fearmongering. A friend of his set up an LJ comm for it, and Chris put it on Twitter. A person or persons unknown also set up a blogspot for it with some content from the 2M4M site.

This is where YOU GUYS come in... help us spread the word! We need to socialize http://www.2M4M.org so when people search for it they find IT instead of NOM's bigotry. So please visit http://www.2M4M.org, DIGG it, Delicious it, blog about it, link to it, pass it on to your friends, follow it on Twitter (it already has more followers than the official NOM Tweet), make it the defining destination. Right now Googling 2M4M brings up this site and not NOM's, and we'd like to keep it that way. Please help?

Thanks!

My name's James Glendinning. I'm primarily an artistic & fetish photographer based in Orlando, Florida with frequent trips around the state (especially the Tampa area) and yearly visits to California, New York, Georgia, and Utah. I also travel elsewhere whenever I can.

I have been operating under the name "SilverLight Esoterica Photography" (SLE Photo or SLE Photography for short) since 1989. I have a web site that is being rebuilt: James Glendinning, SilverLight Esoterica Photography [link]. While I still work in film, as of early 2006 I made the shift to primarily digital work. Links to other sites showcasing my work can be found there.

My focus is on creating work designed to be showcased in large prints. I exhibit in galleries & shows around the southeast US. I do much of my work on a trade basis, offering a variety of looks and styles for the model's portfolio in exchange for images I can use in my shows.

Unless shoots are set for sites like Zivity where the model & I are both members, I do NOT shoot web content unless requested by a model to do so (I will trade content for models' sites for images I can use). While I shoot fetish, bondage, and erotic work I do not shoot ANY hardcore material, and no requests for such will be entertained.

I also offer some paying work for projects that have commercial intentions (such as the Zodiac At the Beach Calendar/poster series I have shot and am working to complete) or for some of my clients such as for ads for The Woodshed. I will contact models for such projects or place castings, no unsolicited requests for paid work will be answered.

I frequently collaborate with other photographers and digital artists. If another photographer is credited on one of my images, that photographer either assisted on the shoot or did the retouching or manipulations.

At this time I am seeking the following:

* African-American, Asian, and Hispanic models to increase diversity in my portfolio.
* Male models willing to act in dominant and submissive roles for fetish images, some with other males and some with females.
* Men and women interested in alternative spirituality for my Goddesses series and my Gods In Modern Times series.
* Men and women interested in alt. spirituality and fetish for my bondage Tarot project.

I usually work with a female assistant or MUA on any shoot unless I am working with a group of models. I do NOT shoot solo with models if possible. Having said that, I am not a fan of escorts, as I find they typically disrupt shoots. If you won't work without an escort we probably are not compatible to work together.

Due to the nature and content of some of my work, I will not shoot with or accept networking/friends requests from anyone under the age of 18.

I use Digimarc to copyright-protect my images. Please respect my copyrights.

Ok, I THOUGHT that was what you meant. I'm a big Raimi fan, especially his earlier stuff. I've actually been to a couple of "Army of Darkness" special screenings with him and/or Bruce Campbell. :D
