This was shot inside a giant redwood that was struck by lightning. The center of the tree burned out, leaving a "room" 10 feet in diameter about 4 feet underground.

JUST saw the blog & commented there, it was an accident. I almost always submit via going to the group page, in this case I was doing "submit to group" and I clicked on GSD by mistake.

I love the myth of Persephone and this picture speaks so much about the soul emerging back from the abysses. She brings in her eyes the knowledge she got there. It's wonderful the way she's looking around, with a dark strength, and she's not afraid. She looks refreshed, renewed.

Thank you! I've always been fascinated with myths & ancient cultures, and the Persephone myth's one of my favorites.
